Upon successful completion, students are eligible for the SafeWork NSW high-risk work license assessment, allowing them to operate forklifts professionally.

Course Overview
This structured course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in forklift operation, emphasizing safety protocols, equipment handling, hazard recognition, and risk management.
This course leads to the LF Class High-Risk Work (HRW) Forklift Licence as defined in the National Standards for “Licensing Persons Performing High-Risk Work. The course is suitable to all operators working in warehouse, transport, construction, events and retail.
The training requires the operator to have the ability to plan the work, carry out basic forklift checks, shift loads in a safe manner, close down and secure equipment once the job is finished.
This course is based on the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work and it satisfied territory and state licensing requirements. Legislation requires Forklift refresher training every five (5) years.

Course Structure

Assessment Requirements
Participants are required to demonstrate both Knowledge Evidence and Performance Evidence as per SafeWork NSW high-risk work standards.
- Knowledge Evidence: Covers safe operating procedures, legislative compliance, risk management, forklift specifications, and basic maintenance.
- Performance Evidence: Evaluates practical ability to operate the forklift truck, including planning, maneuvering, load handling, and post-operation tasks under various scenarios.
SafeWork NSW Assessment
On assessment day, participants complete:
- A practical test in forklift operation, including load handling, stability, and hazard management.
- Theory questions on forklift operations and safety to confirm knowledge competency.
Additional training options are available for participants who need further preparation before retesting.
Certification & Licensing Process
Upon successful completion of the training and SafeWork NSW assessment, TP Training will guide participants through the necessary steps to obtain their High-Risk Work License (HRWL) for forklift operation:
Step 1: Completion of Training
- Complete the 2-day training and pass the 1-day SafeWork NSW assessment, demonstrating your competency in forklift operation.
Step 2: Notice of Satisfactory Assessment (NSA)
- After passing, you’ll receive a Notice of Satisfactory Assessment (NSA).
- Pink Copy: Serves as a temporary license, valid for 60 days, enabling you to operate a forklift immediately.
- White Copy: Required for your official license application.
Step 3: License Application at Australia Post
To obtain your official High-Risk Work License (HRWL), submit the following at an Australia Post outlet:
- White Copy of NSA as proof of assessment completion.
- Application Form (N5) for the HRWL.
- 100 Points of ID, including verification of your date of birth, residential address, and signature.
- License Application Fee, payable at Australia Post. Check SafeWork NSW for the latest fee details.
Step 4: Receiving Your HRWL Card
- After application submission, SafeWork NSW processes your information and mails the official HRWL card to you. Valid for 5 years, it allows forklift operation in compliance with SafeWork NSW regulations.
Temporary License Validity: The pink copy of your NSA is valid for 60 days, allowing immediate forklift operation until the official HRWL card arrives.
