Childcare First Aid Course

This Childcare First Aid course has been designed for the early childhood education industry. It covers the training requirements for first aid, asthma, anaphylaxis, and legislation surrounding early education.

This course is ideal for workers in education and care settings, including early childhood educators and those working with school-age children in outside school hours care and vacation programs. In many states and territories, workplace first aiders must renew their first aid certificates every three years to keep their skills current.

Course Description:
This unit focuses on providing first aid response to infants and children according to guidelines from the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other national bodies. It is suitable for people needing refresher training or those looking to acquire critical lifesaving skills.

The course equips you with the knowledge to manage emergency situations, perform first aid, communicate details, and review incidents. It’s the standard requirement for employment in the education and care industry.

• HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• HLTAID011 Provide first aid
• HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education and care setting

Entry Requirements

To enrol in this course with TP Training, participants must:

• Provide a form of photo identification (driver’s licence or passport)
• Have the physical ability to demonstrate required tasks
• Obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI): Get your USI here
• Complete TP Training’s Language, Literacy, and Numeracy assessment

Attendance

• Pre-course Study: 3-5 hours required prior to attending.
• In-person Attendance: 1 day of training and assessment.
• Participants should arrive 15 minutes early to complete enrolment paperwork. Late arrivals (15+ minutes) will be refused entry.

Training & Assessments

Training is conducted by qualified trainers at TP Training using a mix of theory, practical elements, and group discussions. Assessments will confirm knowledge and competency across the units.

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA), listing all the completed units of competency.
