Commonly referred to as the Lollypop Lady or RIISS00054 Blue Card Traffic Controller course, this training covers essential topics, including:

  • Stop/Slow Bat Operations: Safely manage traffic flow using a stop/slow bat.
  • Traffic Monitoring: Set up and operate portable traffic control devices and temporary signs following Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS).
  • Risk and Incident Management: Conduct risk assessments and manage incident reports as per Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards.
  • Communication and Policy: Use communication tools effectively and conform to industry standards for traffic control procedures.

Additional Details:

  • Entry Requirements: Participants must be at least 17, have a valid SafeWork NSW White Card, and complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment. You’ll also need to provide 100 points of ID and proof of Australian or New Zealand citizenship/residency.
  • Duration: 1 day of classroom training followed by a half-day of live practical assessment.
