RIIHAN301E Elevate Work Platform Course To Operate Boom Under 11m (Yellow Card – EWP)

This course meets the requirements for earning an EWPA Yellow Card and follows the RIIHAN301E – Operate Elevating Work Platform (Boom Lift Under 11 Meters) unit of competency. It provides essential skills for safely operating an elevating work platform (EWP) with a boom lift under 11 metres.

Course Overview

The training course is designed for individuals in operational roles requiring an EWP operator licence, including those with a High-Risk licence or working at heights. It’s also ideal for anyone needing refresher training, such as those with an older Yellow Card or those who haven’t completed training in the past five years.

Note: For operating an EWP with a boom length of 11 metres or more, you need to attend our TLILIC0005 – Licence to Operate a Boom-Type EWP (Boom Length 11m or More) course. Group discounts are available!

• Course Description: This course offers comprehensive theoretical and practical training by EWPA-accredited Trainers. You will learn to operate EWPs that do not require a High-Risk Work Licence, including:
  • Scissor Lifts (SL)
  • Vertical Lifts (VL)
  • Boom Lifts (BL) under 11 metres

Entry Requirements

To enrol in this course, participants must:

• Be 18 years or older
• Provide valid photo ID (e.g., driver’s licence, passport)
• Hold a current NSW White Card or equivalent
• Have the physical ability to perform required tasks
• Provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) Create your USI here
• Complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment with TP Training

Attendance Requirements

• Participants must arrive 15 minutes prior to the course start time to complete enrolment paperwork.
• Latecomers arriving 15 minutes after the scheduled start will not be permitted to attend.
• Participants must wear sturdy shoes and appropriate attire for practical sessions.

Training & Assessment

Training takes place at TP Training by a qualified Trainer in a simulated work environment. Delivery includes classroom instruction, group discussions, and practical demonstrations.

Assessment: Includes written questions, case studies, and practical tasks, ensuring knowledge and skills meet industry standards.

Certification

After successfully completing the course, you will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (SOA) from TP Training. Your accredited trainer will submit records to the EWPA, who will issue your Yellow Card. An interim record will be emailed to you, valid until you receive the physical Yellow Card (valid for 5 years).
