Overview
If you are looking for work in any establishment that provides Gambling Services in NSW, it is a government requirement for you to have completed a Liquor and Gaming NSW approved RCG course (Responsible Gambling Services Course).
The RCG course should be undertaken only if you have never completed this course before or if your competency card expired more than 28 days ago. If you have a valid RCG competency card or it has expired recently, you need to do a L&GNSW online refresher course.

- SITHGAM022 – Provide responsible gambling services ( known as SITHGAM001)
Entry Requirements
Participants must:
- Provide one form of photo I.D. (e.g., Passport, Australian driver’s licence, proof of age card)
- Provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. Get your USI here
- Complete TP Training Language, Literacy, and Numeracy assessment.
This RSA course combines plain English, videos, photos, and questioning to ensure all learners have the best possible chance at comprehending the required knowledge and skills. Attendance
Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary enrolment paperwork.
If participants arrive 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time, entry to the course will be refused.
Training & Assessments
RCG training covers gambling-related topics, such as:
- Facts about the legislative framework
- Gambling guidelines
- Strategies to prevent addiction
The RCG training course consists of:
- PowerPoint presentations
- Class activities
- Videos
- End-of-the-day assessment
Throughout the day, students will complete a multiple-choice and short-answer-based assessment, confirming the knowledge and skills achieved to demonstrate competency across this unit.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive:
- Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for SITHGAM022Â Provide responsible gambling services
To receive your competency card, you will need to:
- Complete the course successfully and receive an NSW RCG interim certificate.
- Take your RCG interim certificate and 100 points of identification (see details on the back side of the RCG interim certificate).
- Visit the closest Service NSW centre to order your competency card.
The competency card will be posted to you within 4 weeks.
